Volunteers are vital to the success of the Relief Nursery.
Nearly 250 hours of volunteer services are needed each week. Listed below are areas of opportunity:
Springfield FOOD for Lane County Volunteer: Pick up Relief Nursery’s order from the FOOD for Lane County warehouse, bring it back to the site, and stock/ maintain the food table and pantry.
Classroom Assistant: Assists teachers in a classroom and playground setting using therapeutic approaches. Children range in ages from six weeks to six years.
Bus Rider: Assists the bus driver with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for child passengers. Children range in ages from six weeks to six years.
Evening Child Care Assistant: Assist childcare workers with a mixed age group from 3 months to 9 years while parents attend classes.
Kitchen Assistant: Assist kitchen staff in preparing breakfast and lunch for the children.
Development Office Assistant: Assists the Development department with office and clerical work.
Event Volunteer: Assist Director of Events and Development office with special events and activities.
