Invest in a Safe and Healthy Future for Children and Families

We are grateful to our compassionate and generous donors for the many ways they invest in us. We value their partnership.

Our services are completely free to our families. Relief Nursery’s revenue is generated from private community donations, state and federal contracts, foundations and grants. We have a strong and proven record of responsible stewardship of funds and innovative programming. We are not, however, insulated from fluctuations or unexpected loss of revenue from any source.

Your support enables us to provide vital support for our community’s most vulnerable families and grow as the need grows.

Other Ways to Give

Donor Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is like a charitable investment account, for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about. It allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction and then recommend grants from the fund over time.

Children’s Legacy Endowment Fund

The Children’s Legacy Fund for the Benefit of Relief Nursery is an endowment fund established in 2014 with a lead gift from John and Linda Sheppard. We receive annual distributions from the fund that support the services we provide to children and families. The fund is held at Oregon Community Foundation.

For information about a gift to the Children’s Legacy Fund, please contact Jennifer Solomon at jennifso@reliefnursery.org, or by phone, 541.485.0007 ext. 212.

Bequests

A charitable bequest is a gift made in your will or trust. Bequests can take a number of forms, including a lump sum of money, an asset such as securities or real estate, or a portion of your estate. Bequests made to Relief Nursery may provide significant estate and income tax savings.

Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds

There are significant tax advantages to this type of gift. You will not pay capital gains on the transfer to Relief Nursery and you will receive a tax receipt for the full value of the donated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds. Please contact Jennifer Solomon at jennifso@reliefnursery.org for wire transfer information.

IRA Charitable Rollover

Individuals age 70 ½ and older can make distributions from $1 up to $100,000 a year to organizations like Relief Nursery directly through their IRA at any time. Qualified gifts are tax free and can count toward your required minimum distributions.

For information about a gift to the Children’s Legacy Fund, please contact Jennifer Solomon at jennifso@reliefnursery.org, or by phone, 541.485.0007 ext. 215.

Life Insurance

Perhaps you have a policy that has outlasted its original intended purpose. You can make Relief Nursery the beneficiary with just the change of a form. Or you can sign over a fully paid policy to qualify for a tax deduction.

Retirement Plans

Gifts from retirement funds paid to anyone other than your spouse at your passing may get hit with heavy income and estate taxes. However, these gifts are tax-free to charity and take only a few minutes to set up. Contact your administrator and ask for a change of beneficiary form.

We are proud of our Charity Navigator 4-star rating which is the highest rating awarded.
