Parenting Education Program
Relief Nursery’s Parenting Education Program offers individualized and strength-based support to parents and caregivers. The goal of our Parent Educators is to meet parents where they are on their journey, to learn more about the needs of the family, and to work together to find helpful strategies and solutions.
Personalized Parenting Support
We recognize that every family has its own unique experiences, values, and culture. With this in mind, our Parent Educators create a system of support that aligns with each parent’s specific goals for themselves and their child, and includes their child’s teacher or Outreach worker. We explore a wide variety of topics with parents, including:
- Building connection and attachment with your child
- Supporting your child’s learning and development
- Responding to challenging behaviors
- Helping children manage big feelings and emotions
- Child-proofing your home and safety measures
- Creating positive routines for bedtime, mealtimes, toilet training and more
- Family stress reduction and self-care
Parenting Classes
Relief Nursery offers parenting classes designed to strengthen parenting skills and increase parent-child attachment. Courses offered include:
- Make Parenting a Pleasure
- Circle of Security
To ensure accessibility, we provide transportation, childcare, and a meal during our parenting classes. Our programs are available in both English and Spanish.
Home Visiting
All Relief Nursery home visitors offer parenting resources and assistance. When a family needs more intensive support, our Parent Educators can provide additional home visits with a focus on parenting challenges and goals.
